Marketing/Public Relations Internship Opportunity: Spring/Summer 2017

The Amphibian Stage Productions Marketing & Public Relations Intern will assist the Marketing & Public Relations Manager in all tasks related to print and digital marketing, press relations, and community outreach. This opportunity will include experience in how to create marketing campaigns that involve both print and digital/social media, how to write and distribute press releases, and how to make pitches to the media for students interested in marketing and public relations for the arts or the nonprofit sector. Reports to Marketing & Public Relations Manager and Artistic Director.

The internship is available to start as soon as possible during the spring; there is a potential opportunity to transition to a temporary full-time position during the summer for the right candidate.

Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining media list
  • Maintaining community outreach list
  • Designing email newsletters
  • Locating images for social media graphics
  • Assisting with press release and social media post writing
  • Updating arts and culture calendars
  • Assisting with evening and weekend box office
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and Excel, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, Drupal (or general website content management platforms)
  • Skilled in using social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for work or business related purposes (non personal)
  • Skilled in writing and editing press releases
  • Some knowledge of nonprofits or arts organizations
  • Comfortable learning new social media support tools (design, analytics, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Current college student / recent graduate looking for temporary work

Compensation: Amphibian Stage Productions will offer a stipend for the internship; upon transition to temporary full-time summer employment, there will be an hourly salary.
