LaJohn McDonald Jr. was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky and raised in Indianapolis,
Indiana. He honorably served 4 years in the United States Navy during Operation Desert Shield. Stationed aboard The USS Fort McHenry LSD 43 after 2 deployments he moved to DFW from Memphis TN. LaJohn Studied Theology and Community Development at The Memphis School of Preaching. Presently works in a compassionate environment that offers hope, healing, and help to Veterans as a Program Manager at My Health My Resources (MHMR) of Tarrant County, and Peer Services Coordinator with The Military Veteran Peer Network Tarrant County Chapter. He is passionate about working with veterans as a Peer Specialist, Trainer and Facilitator. Since 2018 he has been instrumental in connecting us with veterans programs throughout Fort Worth, which has helped make our De-Cruit program the success story it is. When LaJohn is not serving, he enjoys quality time with family, friends and playing chess. He is dedicated to recovery through life experiences both lived and shared.
